We all have been deceived in life. Sometimes by our own naive disposition. This was an extreme case of putting trust and Faith in someone who doesn't have the least bit of good intentions or love reciprocated in any way. It was an excellent lesson learned and ended happily. I also liked how Marie always had someone and was never completely without. We just have to try to take noticed as to who our true friends really are. That's the boat we want to be on. Love, love her books.
I love the fact that the girl was a fighter and never gave up.wish her and Bill would of got married was on there side the hole time.
Although I am a fan of Mrs. Steel"s novels, I found this one to be too much like Matters of the Heart. It had basically the same theme where there's a lonely women who falls head over heels over a charming man who turns out to be either a sociopath or a "gold-digger". Added to that there was a lot of spelling errors through out the book. Normally I give 5 stars but because of these things, I changed to a 4 star.
This book kept me reading the whole way through non stop, it was really good. You cry some and get really mad and want to shake the main character and tell her just say the truth all ready! The book ends in a "What" please tell me this is not the end kind of way. I can't believe that's it and there want be a sequel, that is the only thing wrong with the book.
This book is better than I thought it would be. A lot better! Some love, some sad, some evil, some very happy and you have a story.
I cannot say i was ever bored ad it held my interest. It had such an empty sad story of the childhood. I think i wanted more of a complete happy ending.
Normally, I only care to write about Ms Steel's books with much appreciation for the pleasure I get from them. I don't
